Agenda

A conference devoted to helping women manage natural resources in the Edwards Plateau will take place in Fredericksburg, TX on October 10-11, 2022 at the Inn on Barons Creek.
The womens conference is an extension of the Bennett Trust Land Stewardship Conference, which is held in Kerrville each April. Dr. Larry Redmon, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Associate Department Head, State Specialist and Bennett Trust co-chair recognized that more and more women are becoming landowners through inheritance and other means and wanted to help these women be a success in the management of their natural resources. By offering a ladies' conference, we hope women will feel more comfortable attending and participating. We also encourage mothers to bring their daughters – it is a generational thing.
“Everyone involved in the planning process is excited about our new Edwards Plateau Land Stewardship Conferences,” Redmon said. “And thanks to the Bennett’s generosity, this will be a unique learning opportunity for all of us for years to come.”
The “ Building a Legacy of Environmental Stewardship” conference will cover:
  • Environmental stewardship of prescribed fire
  • Sheep and goats
  • Top Texas laws for landowners
  • Well-owner information and more

Those with a passion for environmental stewardship and a love for Texas Hill Country will want to be there.

Among the speakers will be:

  • Ag law specialist
  • Range scientists
  • Ag economic specialist
  • Natural resources program specialist
  • And our guest speaker
The conference’s preliminary agenda for the first day includes a presentation on building that legacy of environmental stewardship traditions and how those challenges change the present.

*Event registration includes all meals, break refreshments, and tour transportation.

**Attendees will be receiving three general CEU credit hours.
