The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas Section Society for Range Management will be hosting a summer ranch tour of the Dry Creek Ranch on July 9. The Dry Creek Ranch was presented the 2020 Outstanding Rangeland Stewardship Award by the society and other land-management-related organizations. Dry Creek Ranch has been sharing its land and legacy of stewardship for nearly half a century with AgriLife Extension. The last tour of this scope at the ranch was held in 1973.

“We hope people enjoy being out on rangeland as we tour the ranch in the much-loved rugged and pastoral terrain of the Edwards Plateau ecoregion of Texas,” said Morgan Treadwell, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension rangeland specialist, San Angelo. “Attendees will explore pastures where ongoing practices of prescribed fire, mechanical and chemical management have impacted and improved the landscape for diverse livestock and wildlife species.”

The event is free, but preregistration is required by July 7 at http://bit.ly/DryCreekRanchTour. Free lunch will be served following the tour. Directions to the ranch can be found here.
