Long Acres Ranch is hosting a free Texas Parks and Wildlife Hunting 101 course with a focus on wild pigs, open to all ages. This highly informative Hunting 101 will focus on feral hogs - a serious problem in Texas. The class will cover information about their environment, habitat and food sources as well as their behavior and how this species affects others and our economy. We will also go over regulations, laws and restrictions and appropriate hunter behavior in the field. We will learn about field dressing / anatomy and learn cooking techniques and tips. We will also learn about resources and movement / reporting app. Presenters will include A&M AgriLife agents, Old Dominion Wildlife, Texas Parks & Wildlife biologist, Game Warden, Hunter Education Instructors and a processor / cooker. Location is Long Acres Ranch, a conservation and education facility, located just off Williams Way / Richmond Parkway and 59 in Richmond.
