samantha.dillon@ag.tamu.eduAs a research assistant for NRI, Samantha studies reptiles in south Texas along the lower Rio Grande Valley.
Samantha received a biology degree from the University of Central Florida in 2017, and since then has worked in habitat management of imperiled species throughout the southeastern United States. Most recently, her work focused on monitoring populations of Reticulated Flatwoods Salamanders (Ambystoma bishopi) in the western Florida panhandle and assisting managers within the Gulf Coastal Plain Ecosystem Partnership in restoring habitat with prescribed fire.
Outside of work, Samantha further continues her enjoyment of the outdoors with herping, birding, and botanizing, and she also creates art centered around her favorite plant and animal species.
