Jennifer Morton is a research assistant with the Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute mussel research group. She assists in freshwater mussel surveys in rivers and streams across Texas and laboratory studies focusing on mussel-host fish relationships. 

Her research interests include thermal tolerances of mussels and developing environmental flow recommendations for state-threatened species. Jennifer has a background in biological sampling of freshwater streams in Maryland.

Jennifer previously worked for state and federal government agencies. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University and is currently pursuing a master’s in wildlife and fisheries sciences from Texas A&M University.
