As communications specialist for the Texas A&M Natural Resources Institute and the Texas Water Resources Institute, Leslie Lee helps get the scientific research and educational information produced by the institutes into the hands of those who need it – landowners, the interested public and decision-makers.
Through various print, online and social media channels, including magazine articles, newsletters, technical reports, news releases, brochures and other publications, Leslie helps translate important, complicated research into resources valuable to the institutes' various audiences. In addition to providing writing and editing services, she leads the institutes' social media initiatives, coordinates all graphic design work and serves as managing editor of the institute’s monthly newsletter, Conservation Matters. She also photographs portraits and landscapes for the institute.
Leslie joined the Texas Water Resources Institute in 2009 and then NRI in 2011. While earning her Bachelor of Arts in English and communication from Texas A&M University, she worked in the communications office of the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering.
Outside the office, Leslie enjoys reading widely – especially memoirs and literary fiction, volunteering at church, relaxing at her family’s ranch, and spending time with her husband and two young sons.
