A recent article by Bob McCan of the Texas Agricultural Land Trust has referenced NRI's Texas Land Trends program. Titled "Asphalt is the last crop," the article describes the challenges that Texas' agricultural lands face and how the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program can help. These working lands are critical to the economic and ecological stability of Texas, but the article points out that "according to the Texas A&M Texas Land Trends study, we are losing our agricultural lands at one of the fastest rates in the country."
