The Bennett Trust is a first-of-its-kind endowment made by Eskell and Ruth Bennett. The trust provides an endowment for AgriLife Extension to continue their tradition of conservation education and preservation of the Edwards Plateau. Funded by the endowment, the Bennett Land Stewardship program uses conferences tailored specifically for land management in the Edwards Plateau, covering issues such as brush control, prescribed burning, estate planning, water management and livestock stocking rates.

This year’s event will be held at the fabulous YO Hotel in Kerrville.

Day 1 will include discussion topics and hands-on opportunities regarding grazing, plant management tools (prescribed fire, herbicide, and mechanical control options), Texas landowner tax valuation options, grazing and hunting leases, fence laws, and predator management and ID.

Day 2 involves “Your Choice” of tours to different parts of the Hill Country on board air conditioned charter buses:

Conference Agenda:

  • Tour A: Legacy Management, Hillingdon Ranch
  • Tour B: Wine & Roses, Gillespie County
  • Tour C: Wildlife Management
