REPI report to Congress highlights continued investment in military readiness and conservation partnerships
March 26, 2026
The Readiness and Environmental Protection Integration Program (REPI) released its 2026 Report to Congress, highlighting another year of growth in collaborative efforts that strengthen military readiness while advancing natural resource conservation across the country.
The annual report outlines how REPI partnerships continue to protect critical training and testing capabilities by addressing encroachment, supporting working lands and conserving key habitats. Through these efforts, the program reinforces the shared value of resilient landscapes for both national defense and local communities.
For NRI, the report reflects the kind of cross-sector collaboration that defines much of the Institute’s work. NRI supports REPI and related initiatives by providing science-based planning, decision-support tools and on-the-ground implementation that help partners align conservation outcomes with military mission needs. From Sentinel Landscape efforts to installation-level planning and regional partnerships, NRI's role is to continue keeping working lands productive, sustaining ecosystems and ensuring military installations remain viable for the long term.
The 2026 report underscores a continued commitment to partnership-driven solutions, where federal agencies, state and local governments, landowners and organizations work together to deliver measurable impact.
